Are the Sixers going to get Tyrese Maxey back against the Wizards
The Philadelphia 76ers won’t be taking a much-needed break this weekend. The Sixers return to action on Saturday night as they travel to play the Washington Wizards after playing the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
The Sixers’ health hasn’t been the best lately. The Sixers have been successful without important players all around the roster, despite the fact that Joel Embiid’s injury has just taken center stage.
Tyrese Maxey, the starting guard for the Sixers, was among the veterans who received the night off on Friday due to his persistent illness.
Maxey was questionable before being ruled out on Friday, but the Sixers updated his playing status to probable going into Saturday’s game against the Wizards. Thankfully, Philadelphia will once again have its first-ever All-Star in the lineup as he is healthy to play against Washington.
Maxey’s role has grown since he returned after a three-game absence on February 1. Against the Utah Jazz, Maxey scored a career-high 51 points to end a four-game losing streak and secure a three-point victory in the absence of the injured Embiid. The young veteran and the Sixers have had a difficult time adjusting to life without Embiid ever since.
After the Sixers’ victory against Utah, they lost four straight games. On Friday night, they lost to the Atlanta Hawks because they were unable to capitalize on Maxey’s performance.
The first-time All-Star will be back in the mix on Saturday, giving Maxey a chance to play with the newcomers to the Sixers. Buddy Hield and Cameron Payne were acquired by Philadelphia ahead of the trade deadline, and they were introduced to the team on Friday.
