DONE DEAL: Finally, Nottingham Forest Have Officially Signed Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on a Two-Year Deal
After weeks of speculation and behind-the-scenes negotiations, it’s finally official — Jadon Sancho has signed with Nottingham Forest on a two-year contract from Manchester United in one of the most talked-about transfers of the summer. The electrifying winger, once touted as the future of English football, will now look to revive his career at the City Ground.
The deal, confirmed late Monday evening, marks a major coup for Nottingham Forest and signals their serious intent ahead of the 2025/26 season. Sources close to the club have confirmed that the two-year deal does not include an obligation to buy, but Forest will cover a significant portion of Sancho’s wages and have the option to extend the agreement at the end of the second season.
Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo was instrumental in convincing Sancho to make the switch. The two reportedly had multiple discussions about Forest’s ambitions, Sancho’s role in the squad, and how the 24-year-old can rebuild his confidence and form in an environment free of the intense spotlight he endured at Old Trafford.
“This is the perfect place for a fresh start,” Sancho said in his first interview as a Forest player. “I’ve spoken with the manager, I’ve seen the passion of the fans, and I feel like I’m truly wanted here. I’m ready to work hard and enjoy my football again.”
Sancho’s time at Manchester United was a mixed bag. After arriving in 2021 for £73 million from Borussia Dortmund with massive expectations, his Old Trafford career was plagued by inconsistency, injuries, and off-field tensions — most notably his public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, which saw him sidelined for much of the 2023/24 season.
A short loan spell back at Dortmund in early 2024 showed flashes of his former brilliance, but United were reportedly unwilling to include him in their long-term plans. Enter Nottingham Forest, who saw a golden opportunity to snatch a proven talent and rejuvenate his career under a manager known for getting the best out of attacking players.
Sancho’s arrival is expected to bring pace, creativity, and star power to Forest’s attacking line. Paired with the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi, Sancho adds a new dimension to a team that narrowly missed European qualification last season but has made bold moves in the summer transfer window.
Fans have already flooded social media with excitement, calling the signing a “statement of intent” and a “massive win for the club.” The club shop reported record traffic following the announcement, with Sancho’s No. 7 shirt flying off the shelves within hours.
Nottingham Forest’s first home match of the season is now expected to be a sell-out, with fans eager to see their newest star in action. For Jadon Sancho, the move represents more than just a transfer — it’s a second chance, a new chapter, and a club ready to believe in him again.
