A native of Ocala, Florida, and an alumnus of Trinity Catholic High School, Slaughter initially committed to Florida State before switching to the Gators. In 2024, Slaughter started all 12 regular-season games, leading the offensive line with 728 snaps.

According to Pro Football Focus, Slaughter ranks third nationally among centers with an offensive grade of 81.2 and seventh in run blocking with a grade of 79.1. His consistent performance has been instrumental in the Gators’ offensive success.
