The 37-year-old was in such good spirits that he couldn’t help but perform his own version of ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ for the crowd.
Joe Hart, who recently retired, is in no hurry to leave Celtic, as the adored custodian posted a late-night love bomb to his beloved club.
The 37-year-old, who rode off into the sunset after winning seven titles at Parkhead, was in good spirits as he and musician Jack Mulholland presented an impromptu concert following former teammate Josip Juranovic’s wedding. Hart screamed out his own version of ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy,’ which Parkhead fans chanted enthusiastically following another victorious season.
The former England custodian is revered for his performances on the football, but it is his unbreakable friendship with Celtic fans that has had a lasting impact on him. Hart remarked that his three years in Glasgow were among the best of his career, and his current song would only add to his popularity among fans who aren’t ready to see him retire.
Hart – speaking after the Scottish Cup Final win over Rangers – summed up what he believed makes Celtic so special. He said: “There is nowhere else on the planet that I’d want to play football,” the goalkeeper told Premier Sports afterwards. I’m truly blessed to walk out with a big smile on my face. It wasn’t like that at one point so I am gonna take my win and run.
“I thought it [retiring] was the right thing to do. I wanted to take the pressure away from the manager and do the best for the club, because it’s about the club being successful and the people being happy. I’m just lucky I’ve been able to piggy-back on it.”
