Nebraska Football Lands Major Transfer Portal News…

**Nebraska Football Lands Major Transfer Portal Talent to Bolster Roster**

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have made a significant splash in the transfer portal, securing commitments from key players to strengthen their roster ahead of the 2025 season. Head coach Matt Rhule has been aggressive in recruiting talent to elevate Nebraska’s standing in the competitive Big Ten.

### **Elijah Pritchett Joins the Cornhuskers**
One of the biggest additions to the team is former Alabama offensive tackle **Elijah Pritchett**. Pritchett, a highly sought-after recruit from the Class of 2023, was ranked as one of the top offensive tackles in the nation. Standing at **6-foot-6 and 312 pounds**, he brings size, strength, and SEC-level experience to Nebraska’s offensive line.

Pritchett played in 13 games for Alabama last season, starting 12 at both right and left tackle. His presence is expected to be a game-changer for Nebraska’s offensive unit, giving them much-needed stability and protection in the trenches. Nebraska struggled with offensive line consistency last season, and the addition of Pritchett could provide an immediate upgrade.

### **Wide Receiver Dane Key Commits to Nebraska**
Another major win for the Huskers is **wide receiver Dane Key**, who is transferring from Kentucky. Key, a former four-star recruit, had a productive career with the Wildcats, making him a valuable addition to Nebraska’s receiving corps. His decision to join the Cornhuskers reunites him with his former coach **Daikiel Shorts** and fellow wideout **Hardley Gilmore** in Lincoln.

Key’s arrival will provide Nebraska with a deep-threat receiver, complementing the team’s developing quarterback play. His ability to make plays downfield could be a major boost for Nebraska’s passing game, which has been inconsistent in recent seasons.

### **Defensive Additions and Departures**
On the defensive side, Nebraska has also added **defensive lineman Jaylen George** from East Tennessee State. George brings depth and size to Nebraska’s defensive front, helping to bolster the Huskers’ ability to stop the run and generate pressure.

However, Nebraska has also faced departures through the portal. **Wide receiver Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda** entered the transfer portal, adding to a list of **31 total exits**, including seven walk-ons. While Rhule has brought in 15 new transfers, roster turnover remains a challenge.

### **Spring Game Concerns**
Coach Matt Rhule has expressed concerns about **player poaching through the transfer portal** and is considering canceling Nebraska’s traditional **spring football game**. The **spring transfer window** remains open until April 25, and Rhule wants to protect his roster from outside influences.

With high-profile transfers like Pritchett and Key, Nebraska is positioning itself as a serious contender in the Big Ten. The 2025 season will be a crucial test for Rhule’s rebuilding efforts.
