Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard boosts 2025 NFL Draft hopes at Senior Bowl
The 22-year-old was one of few Fighting Irish stars who featured in the post-season college football all-star game on Saturday, where he appeared to make the most of his time on the field
Riley Leonard’s strong performance at the Senior Bowl on Saturday increased his chances of being selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. One of the highlights of the postseason game was the Notre Dame star, who last month helped the Fighting Irish advance to their first National Championship game in 13 years.
As the starting quarterback for the American Team, the 22-year-old completed six of seven passes for 54 yards under the direction of special teams coordinator and assistant head coach Bubba Ventrone of the Cleveland Browns. He also completed a scramble for a 2-yard gain and a sack for a loss of eight as his team defeated the National Team 22–19.
Leonard’s performance in the game demonstrated to scouts that he’s not just a player who can overpower others, but one who is also capable of executing moves in a passing offence that he wasn’t typically asked to perform for Notre Dame.
