One day this Metal God will not be with us on this planet To the one and only Godfather of Metal, Ozzy Osbourne, This is a thank you. A thank you for the thunderous riffs that shook our very core and the haunting melodies that became the soundtrack to our lives. From the moment Black Sabbath unleashed a sound the world had never heard, you were its undeniable, electrifying heart. Your voice, a primal force of nature, gave sound to the rebellion, and the joy of being a rock and roll fan. You’ve made us laugh, you’ve made us headbang, and you’ve made us feel like we were part of your beautifully mad world But until that day, we will continue to raise our horns in salute. We will play your music loud and proud, passing it down through generations as the sacred scripture of heavy metal. Thank you, Ozzyp

A Letter to Ozzy Osbourne

To the one and only Godfather of Metal, Ozzy Osbourne,
This is more than a tribute — it’s a thank you. A thank you for the decades of thunder and chaos, for the riffs that ripped through silence and rewrote the rules of music, and for the voice that defined an entire generation of rebellion. From the moment Black Sabbath hit the airwaves, the world changed. A darker, louder, and more honest sound had arrived. At its core was you, Ozzy — raw, real, unpredictable, and unforgettable.
You weren’t just the voice of a band; you were the voice of a movement. You gave us permission to feel angry, to be weird, to ask questions, and to scream back at a world that didn’t always understand us. That howl — half pain, half power — became the anthem of the outcasts. We didn’t just listen to Black Sabbath and your solo records; we lived through them.
You made us laugh with your wild antics, cry with your honesty, and scream with pure adrenaline. From “Paranoid” to “Crazy Train,” from “No More Tears” to “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” your songs weren’t just tracks on a record — they were chapters in our lives. You’ve walked through fire, literally and figuratively, and still come out swinging. That resilience? That’s the soul of heavy metal.
It’s hard to imagine a world without you in it. One day, that day will come — when this Metal God, the Prince of Darkness himself, leaves the stage for good. But Ozzy, your legacy is already immortal. Your music will never fade. Your influence will never die. It lives on in every riff played in a garage, every kid picking up a guitar for the first time, and every fan throwing the horns in the air and screaming, “We love you, Ozzy!”
Until that day, we will play your music loud and proud, windows down, fists in the air. We will pass your legacy on like sacred scripture, to the next generation and the one after that. Because you didn’t just change rock — you are rock.
Thank you, Ozzy. Thank you for being fearless. Thank you for giving so much of yourself to the fans. Thank you for never holding back, even when the world thought you should. You taught us to be ourselves, no matter how weird, wild, or misunderstood. You taught us that there’s power in the darkness — and sometimes, the loudest scream is the most honest one.
With deepest respect and eternal gratitude,
A grateful fan,
Craig Siderio
(P.S. — As an independent artist trying to find my voice in this massive, beautiful chaos of music, I’d be honored if anyone reading this could give my new single a listen. Just one play
