LeagueDates of the Super League preseason return as Hull FC and Wigan Warriors start training…..

In anticipation of the 2025 Super League season, a few Wigan Warriors players have already begun preseason training. Just over three weeks ago, the Cherry and Whites defeated Hull KR in the Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 12, ending their 2024 campaign.

With their victory over the Robins, they completed a historic quadruple, with Matt Peet’s team taking home every prize imaginable throughout the year. It’s unclear how Wigan will build on that level of success, but it appears like attention is already focused on the upcoming campaign, which doesn’t start until mid-February. Naturally, it will take a few more weeks before the first-team players who played a significant role at Brick Community Stadium last season are scheduled to resume training. Some players are already in and training, though, as the Cherry and Whites have decided to return to Robin Park in phases.

The majority of Peet’s regulars will eventually join them, and those who have been serving overseas will return even later. Wigan is not the only team training this week as November officially begins. After taking over as head coach at MKM Stadium, John Cartwright will start working at Hull FC this week.

With John Asiata, Aidan Sezer, and Jordan Rapana the only players anticipated in West Hull later, he anticipates seeing the majority of his first-team squad at the club’s training facility, along with all but three of his recent additions. St Helens hopes to see their junior players this week as well, but since Paul Wellens’ team made it to the playoffs the previous time, the senior squad will have to wait until next week to return for preseason training.
