2025 Community Prospect Rankings: Edwin Arroyo is the Reds #3 prospect!

All he needs now is a healthy 2025 season!

After a 2024 that was almost completely lost to injury, Edwin Arroyo finally made his return to the diamond in the Arizona Fall League last October. His numbers there in a terribly small sample didn’t exactly jump off the page, but he once again showed his trademark excellence as a defender and baserunner, highlighting the skills that have had executives across the game holding him in high regards for years.

He’s still just 21 years old, yet has been judged to be a big-league caliber defender at shortstop for years already. When his shoulder is right, he’s shown the ability to be a gap hitter from both sides of the plate, something that should be on display for AA Chattanooga from day one in 2025.

He’s also younger right now than Matt McLain was when McLain was drafted out of UCLA.

There’s still a ton of time for the best of Arroyo to emerge, and that talent level was good enough for you to vote him as the #3 prospect in the Cincinnati Reds system for 2025.

Chase Petty, RHP – 22 years old

2024 at a glance: 4.20 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 130/59 K/BB in 137.0 IP split between Chattanooga Lookouts (AA Southern League) and Louisville Bats (AAA International League)

Pros: Athletic build, fastball that can touch 100 mph; plus slider, developing changeup; allowed zero (0) home runs in 68.0 IP in 2023

Cons: Walk-rate spiked in 2024 (3.9 after sitting at 2.0 in 2023)

As Doug Gray noted at RedsMinorLeagues.com, Petty’s stuff looked better than ever in 2024 despite his numbers taking a bit of a step back. He dealt with an elbow injury early in the 2023 campaign that limited his workload and perhaps cost him a bit of velocity, but the power pitcher the Reds thought they’d acquired from Minnesota in the Sonny Gray deal finally looked to be back last year.

“We never stopped being a band… we were just waiting for the right moment.” And last night, that moment exploded into history. Judas Priest is BACK. After 27 long years of silence, the gods of rock—Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, and Richie Faulkner—reunited on stage in a thunderous resurrection of Kashmir that shook the very soul of music. The arena trembled as their legendary sound returned in full force, untouched by time, fueled by fire. But what turned the roar into raw emotion? Dave Holland, son of the late Dave Holland, behind the drums—channeling his father’s spirit with every beat. It wasn’t just a comeback. It was bloodline. Legacy. A spiritual explosion that left thousands sobbing and screaming. This wasn’t a concert. It was a once-in-a-generation moment that proved legends never die—they just wait for the perfect storm….Full footage below 👇👇👇

50 years ago today, Eagles released their fourth studio album, One Of These Nights. “The Eagles’ first No.1 album in the US, and their first as a quintet with new guitarist Don Felder. “A consistently great record, One Of These Nights featured three US top five hits: country heartbreaker Lyin’ Eyes, Randy Meisner-sung ballad Take It To The Limit, and the funky title track which made No.1. Also included was Journey Of The Sorcerer, a highly unorthodox hillbilly/orchestral-rock epic later adopted as the theme for TV series The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.” Words: Paul Elliott /
